It is the Mahua season and the forests were on fire who did it no one knew. The result the small plants that had emerged and made the forests look green had got burnt. Small children when made to do forced labor much beyond their strength and interest get burnt too and the scars remain unhealed for long time to come!

Children like Prem Hansda; Anima Hansda; Deepansh Hansda; Barkha; Badal and Premika go to School. But coming home is not a joy but spending the remaining hours of the day doing housework beyond their capacity and age. Housework means cooking for the whole family, washing dishes and cleaning the house and taking care of the animals. The result these children are unable to pass in their School exams.

CASS through the DKA Project looks for these little ones synonymous to the young plants that get burnt from the fire to find a way out of their situation. There are 19 DKA education centers that facilitate in Child Safeguarding that enable the youth who teach in these centers to reach out to such children in constructive and creative ways.

This month the children shown in the pictures are the focus of the childsafeguarding. CASS through the DKA education center in Kasiadih is accompanying these children through home visits, counseling and encouraging these children to find time to come and enjoy with the other children and improve their learning levels.
