A visit, exposure, learning’s and fun together for the staff and animators of CASS
Thanks to KFB that made it possible!

9th May, was an important day for the 27 animators and staff of the Kfb Project who went for an exposure to Mandar.  Four vehicles came from three different directions Lopongtandi, Horomocha and Kasiadih. They met on the High way 33 and together proceeded towards Mandar. It is been a long time since the Kfb team had an outing it was exciting to travel. Thanks to Kfb that the participants could have this safe travel means.  They started at 6am in the morning and reached Mandar at 8am.

How the elders in Kasiadih reminded the youth about the values of life! A story of Change

It is summer and the Mango trees in Kasiadih are loaded with Mangoes.  On the 29th May2025 a poor Santhal laborer while working in one of the houses saw Mangoes hanging before him on a tree in the neighborhood. The tree was so loaded with the Mangoes that its branches bent towards the village street attracting the attention of every passerby. The tree belonged to a “powerful” Santhal family whose children are now educated and have jobs that are paid well.

Child Safeguarding 2025

It is the Mahua season and the forests were on fire who did it no one knew. The result the small plants that had emerged and made the forests look green had got burnt.  Small children when made to do forced labor much beyond their strength and interest get burnt too and the scars remain unhealed for long time to come!

Health education

Health education was given to 56 women from the villages of Pindra; Barisum; Durukasmar; Lopongtandi; Ulhara and Jaminia Ulhara by Regina Tirkey and Sukhdeo Soren in a workshop at Lopongtandi centre. Heights, weights, blood pressure were recorded of every woman in this meeting and through games, classroom session and group discussion awareness was brought on a few preventable illness.

Training Workshops for Children

The past months had been quite toxic and the daily newspapers also are carrying news of violations of every kind some of it leave a painful scars on the victims’ families. How do we reframe reality differently so we create a more positive world with love around? The search led us to organize training workshops for children between the age group of 12years to 17 years.

Big Guests Reaching Kasiadih

Friday the 23rd August 2024 in Kasiadih not the Friday of the novel Robinson Crusoe brought news of the big guests reaching Kasiadih. Phones started to ring connecting everyone in Kasiadih to prepare to receive these revered guests. All the young people of Kasiadih gathered near the Highway 33 where the Elephants would be led by the people of Bhelwatanr to Puranapani village and from here to Kasiadih . The traffic on both sides of the highway was stopped.........

Adolescent Seminars

CASS for the first time started adolescent seminars for boys and girls together. A total of 273 adolescents have benefitted from the awareness seminars. In an age of Mobiles it is amazing to see these adolescents participating so peacefully and comfortably without looking at their Mobiles for a good six hours.
